How is it working?
A laser scanner calculates 3D XYZ coordinates with 3 measurements (horizontal angle, vertical angle, and a slope distance to the point measured from the scanner center). This is referred to as a "polar" measurement. Add some trigonometry to get XYZ or Cartesian coordinates quickly.
