Nowadays we are used to seeing a lot of new news about the latest technology unmanned vehicles. One of the studies that directly affect our daily lives is undoubtedly autonomous, ie self-directed vehicles. The Bosch technology company is preparing to emerge in an area that has not been used before. To use radar data, it works with TomTom, a location service provider, and creates HD maps for autonomous driving! Bosch’s Radar Roadmap will serve as an additional localization unit for autonomous cars and will allow them to position themselves in the 3D area with accuracy at the centimeter level.
Radar sensors are already used in “Advanced Driver Support Systems” to detect moving objects and their distance to the car. Bosch is becoming the first company to use Radar data as an external localization layer.
